You can't 'catch' shingles. It's a recurrence of an existing infection so you can not give it to anyone else. However, someone who has not had chickenpox can get chickenpox from close contact with an affected person with a blistered shingles rash. Most people have only one attack of shingles. However, people with very poor immunity can have more than one attack.
